the year of the dog

みなさん、あけまして おめでとうございます！

 

今年は、戌年ですから、犬のことばを紹介します。

（ことしは、いぬどしですから、いぬのことばを しょうかいします。）

We will introduce some words with "dog" as it is the year of the dog this year

 

①犬かき：dog paddle

eg) きれいにおよげないけど、犬かきは、できる。　
I cannot swim beautifully, but I can swim with dog paddle.


②かい犬：pet dog, can be used for a person who shows his loyalty to his boss/organisation

eg) 田中さんは、山田部長のかい犬だ。
Tanaka-san is puppet of the manager, Mr. Yamada.


③犬もあるけば、ぼうにあたる：even dog will experience something if they step forward

eg) 成功するか、失敗するか、わからない。でも、犬もあるけば、ぼうにあたるよ。
We do not know if we will succeed or fail, but we can experience something if we try.

For sure! We never know if we are going to make it or not, but challenging ourselves is important!
