Kids' shukudai for their summer holiday!

もうすぐ7月も終わりますね。

（もうすぐ　７がつも　おわります　ね）

日本では、夏休みが始まりました。

（にほんでは　なつやすみが　はじまりました）

東京周辺では、大抵、7月の下旬から8月いっぱいです。

（とうきょうしゅうへんでは、たいてい、７がつの　げじゅんから　８がつ　いっぱいです。）

 

It is already the end of July.
In Japan, kids started their Summer holiday.
It normally starts at the end of July,
and goes until the end of August in/around Tokyo.

 

 

 

みなさんの国で、小学生は、夏休みの宿題がありますか。

（みなさんの　くにで　しょうがくせいは　なつやすみの　しゅくだいが　ありますか）

日本の小学生には、あります。

（にほんのしょうがくせいには、あります）

今日は、日本の小学生にどんな宿題があるかを紹介します！

（きょうは、にほんのしょうがくせいに　どんな　しゅくだいが　あるか　を　しょうかいします！）

 

In your country, do primary students have Summer holiday homework?
In Japan, they do.
Today, I will write about what kind of homework
Japanese primary students get for Summer holiday.

 

●ドリル：計算ドリル、漢字ドリル

（どりる：けいさんどりる、かんじどりる）

計算や漢字の問題が、1ページ20問×40ページほどあります。

（けいさんや　かんじの　もんだいが　１ぺーじ　２０もん×４０ぺーじほど　あります）

 

○Workbook: calculation workbook, Kanji workbook
They have to finish the whole book of Kanji and calculation practice.
Often each book has 40 pages, and each page has 20 or so questions.

 

 

 

●日記：毎日の絵日記を描く、植物の観察日記をつける

（にっき：　まいにちの　えにっきを　かく、しょくぶつの　かんさつにっきを　つける）

 

○diary: draw illustrated diary about how they spent the days,
and keep record of their observataion on a plant

 

 

 

●運動：早朝のラジオ体操、学校のプール

（うんどう：　そうちょうの　らじおたいそう、がっこうのぷーる）

参加するとスタンプがもらえます。

（さんかすると　すたんぷが　もらえます）

 

○excersise: radio calisthenics early in the morning,
and swimming practice at school
you will get a stamp by attending

 

 

 

●作文／報告：本を読んで、読書感想文を書く、

（さくぶん・ほうこく：ほんを　よんで　どくしょかんそうぶんを　かく）

何についてでもいいので、自由に研究をする

（なんについてでも　いいので　じゆうに　けんきゅうを　する）

 

○reapot: read a book and write what you think about it,
and research about anything you like, and write a report

 

 

 

●美術：工作またはポスターをつくる

（びじゅつ：こうさく　または　ぽすたーを　つくる）

 

○art: handcraft something or draw a poster

 

 

 

5週間にしては、たくさんあると思いませんか。

（５しゅうかんにしては、たくさんあると　おもいませんか）

夏休みの最後まで始めないで、

（なつやすみの　さいごまで　はじめないで）

最後の一週間に泣く泣く頑張る子が多いようです。。。

（さいごの　いっしゅうかんに　なくなく　がんばるこが　おおいようです）

あなたの夏休みはどんな夏休みでしたか。

（あなたの　なつやすみは、どんな　なつやすみでしたか。）

 

You may think that there are a lot for 5 weeks.
Many kids actually do not start until the very end of their summer holiday,
and work hard tearfully in the last week...
